CCTV stands for close circuit television. This is not to be
confused with the general TVs in which we can view a number of
satellite channels. CCTVs are forms of surveillance systems that
are installed in residential and commercial places. The system
consists two or more CCTV cameras which are installed in the places
that need to be surveyed and a monitor through which the
surveillance can be conducted. CCTV systems usually cover wider
areas that require surveillance.
These include places like hospitals, hospitality (hotels, resorts,
spas etc), banks, corporate offices, airports etc. All CCTV cameras
are connected to form a circuit, and the footages cannot be viewed
beyond the circuit. Usually, CCTV systems installed in the
mentioned places can have more than ten to fifteen cameras. There
also has to be someone constantly monitoring the screen as to check
what is going on where. CCTV systems, while displaying the footages
on the monitor as and when it happens, is also equipped to record
the footages which can be played later, or preserved as evidence
whenever needed.
At present many residences are banking on the benefits of CCTVs,
and with this, comes the numerous options and types CCTV camera
that can be availed at large. In the market today, there are
numerous options of the same, which often ends up confusing buyers
about which to take and which to leave behind. The cameras come in
different shapes, features and prices.
Take for instance, some of the very popular variety of cameras can
be named as Bullet cameras, dome cameras, C Mount cameras etc.
Among the mentioned types, the bullet and dome cameras are used
very commonly mainly because of the quality of picture they offer,
the area of coverage and the ability of endurance in the face of
harsh environmental conditions. Based on facilities, the cameras
can be divided into wireless cameras and the wired ones.
Among the ones that add to the existing facilities of the camera,
and that which is most desired as well, is the facility of infrared
or, night vision. It is always good to have a cctv
cameras with night vision facility. This enables the camera to
record footages even in the dark, leaving no blind spots in the
area of surveillance. Infrared night vision can come as a per and
parcel of the camera itself, or can be attached separately. Weather
proofing is a must in case the chosen cameras are to man the
exteriors of the perimeters.
Price is a factor to consider while choosing the right cctv
camera for residence or commercial building. Basically, any
camera that records decent enough footages, where the details can
be made out properly, and can offer easy recognition of the
evidence can be good enough. this may not cost a fortune, but will
certainly be a significant but affordable expenditure. It is not
necessary to break the bank in purchasing the best cameras, but one
should also not get tempted by the ones available at dirt cheap
prices.
