Security is something that every individual is concerned about,
and one of the simplest yet effective ways of achieving high levels
of security is installing a security camera. While there are
thousands who are sold on the idea and have already installed these
devices in various parts of the homes and offices, there are
thousands of others who are waiting and dillydallying mainly
because they harbor certain thoughts about the device that is, in
simple words, not true at all. These ideas are keeping a vast
section of the population of the world to make an investment
towards a safer and more secure home.
Myth 1: ‘Security cameras are meant for the affluent’.
This is the first myth to be dispersed. Many think that since they
belong to the average 9 to 5 working group, thieves and robbers
will hardly attack their residences. In this respect it is
necessary to remember that armed robberies are more common in the
homes of the humble and the ordinary. Taking the advantage of low
security, the thieves have a gala time spreading terror. Thus, it
is not the affluent who are at greater risk, but the ordinary
people and thus, having security cameras is the least that one can
do to guard themselves from miscreants.
Myth 2: ‘It makes sense to have security cameras only in
corporate offices and public places’. Yes. It does make sense
to have these cameras installed in corporate offices and public
places like hospitals, banks, malls, shops, airports etc, but it
also makes sense to have them installed in personal spaces as well.
One may think that he / se knows his / her home like the back of
their hands and nothing can ever go wrong, but we have all heard
about innumerable accidents and mishaps that have happened over the
years in one’s very own personal space.
Myth 3: ‘A Security camera can be very
expensive’. Again . . . not true. Security cameras do come in
varying price ranges and this depends upon the company, the make,
the features available and the quality of the devices. Prices can
be very high and they can be affordable as well. many come with
easy payment schemes that appeal to all who are pocket conscious.
There are simple and cost friendly systems that provide quality
surveillance and it is really not necessary to get the best of the
lost at jaw dropping rates. A mid range system will certainly live
up to expectations.
Myth 4: ‘Climatic conditions may not support such
installation’. Many people live in places where extreme
climatic conditions rule. Some may live in sub zero temperatures
while others may have adapted to blazing heat even over 50ºC.
It is quite natural that under such temperature, any electronics
may give way. But, adverse weather and climatic conditions have
never caused threats to security to cease. The good news is, there
are many varieties of security cameras that can
withstand extreme climatic conditions, even if they are placed
outside. In fact, these will be easily available at electronic
stores located in places with such extreme climatic conditions.
