Memory (RAM) - is the main important component element of the
modern computer. All temporary commands, the data necessary for
further processing by the CPU, hard disk recording, display and
printer are stored in memory.
Arbeitsspeicher (RAM) stores data, which is
available only during the ON state of the machine. As soon as the
computer is turned off, the data will be lost. Therefore, it is
very important that during storage in RAM the information did not
get any mistakes or got broken.
Malfunction of arbeitsspeicher leads to various system errors and
is also the cause of the appearance of BSOD screens, sudden reboot
or shutdown of the computer. Also, failure of memory affects the
turning the computer on, the correct loading of the BIOS and
operating system. When the constant instability of the PC is
present, you need to check the RAM first, especially because this
test does not cause too much difficulty.
How do I check arbeitsspeicher
of your computer?
All that is necessary for self-testing RAM –it is a special
program. The best-known available tools to check the computer's
memory is Memtest86 and Memtest86.
You should download the latest stable version of the utility from
the official website of the program. The easiest option - is to
download the ISO image and burn it to CD or DVD.
When you burn the image to disk or USB flash drive, you must set
boot from a reader in the BIOS - CD / DVD drive or USB. And then
you need to reboot.
After you download the memory test you will see a test screen
In the upper right of the screen you will see:
Scale Pass - is a percentage of completion of all testing in
general;
Scale Test - is a percentage of completion, name and number of
tests performed today.
In the upper left of the screen it will be presented general system
settings: CPU frequency, volume and frequency of memory, processor
cache, etc.
At the bottom center of the page will be displayed error and the
test results. This is what we need.
After starting the test, you have to wait for its completion and
passing all the tests in order. A scan can take from several
minutes to hours, depending on the type of processor, memory, and
motherboard chipset.
To verify the accuracy it'll be better that the entire set of tests
has been passed through several cycles. PC configuration also
affects the amount and type of passable tests.
If the test is successful, and arbeitsspeicher intact,
then you will see this confirmation screen:
Pass complete, no errors, press Esc to exit.
To exit the test you need to remove the CD-ROM reader CD / DVD, or
disable the USB stick with the programs, and press Esc. The
computer will reboot and start work as usual!
