When engaged in multi level marketing, the focus of the entire system is on what a person can do in order to earn a lot. The more the agent sells the goods and recruits people to join in the fun, the more bonuses he can receive, usually by month's end. Compared with other models, multi level marketing, or MLM, requires only a minimum amount of investment to start off. This is why more people are getting into this kind of business--the cost can be easily compensated.

Entrance fee: Step one of the multi level marketing system involves paying a certain admission fee to begin in the business. In this system, the interested person only has to pay around a hundred dollars average to get started. After sorting out the application process, he becomes a bona fide sales agent in no time. In the hierarchy system, in which the system is based on, he is at the top of his pyramid and a level below that of others.

Product package: Once the person becomes a sales agent, the next step is to buy the products that will be put up for sale by the agent. Since multi level marketing is direct selling, most likely the agent may do a door-to-door endorsement campaign. He will visit households in a particular area and promote the products or services he is offering. If he manages to make a sale out of those products, part of the money will go to the agent as a form of commission.

Recruitment: Selling products is not the only way the sales agent can earn a lot of money in this system. The formation of the agent's pyramid, which is done by recruiting more people to join the venture, also determines his level of income. The agent has to recruit people, usually two to three, to start on the MLM opportunity lead right away. This is where the growth starts.

Expansion: Soon, the two or three people the agent has recruited will look for two or three more people to join. The expansion process continues until the agent's pyramid takes shape--a network of people joined by the recruitment process. Meanwhile, the agent active in the MLM opportunity lead climbs to a higher tier in the corporate management, heading the number of recruits under his pyramid.

Residuals: The agent will eventually benefit from his pyramid in the form of residuals as a result of his contacts making sales. As the members grow exponentially as a result of the hierarchical method, the same can be said for potential income. This is what makes the MLM opportunity lead a profitable business to be involved in.
