Dusk fell, and it was time to have a nice dream. After a whole day’s drudgery that almost used up her total energy, the old Nancy, who used to be a young and happy girl but now lost her youth and passion for good, lay on her shabby iron bed which was towed back years ago from a ramshackle building.

The memories of the past pleasures and exquisite soul eater costumesflooded back in the old, poor woman’s mind in such a shocking way that nearly drove her insane at some very moments. Then there came the dogs’ noisy yelp. “What a clumsy beast! If you dare to bark like this some years ago, you must have killed by my servant!” Nancy muttered while she sat up alarmingly, turned on the light as soon as possible, opened the window hurriedly and eventually her loud cry stopped those uncomfortable noises. Backing to her bed, Nancy could not help searching out the scenes of her carefree adolescence when her life was still simple but joyful. It was pointless to doubt the possibility of Nancy’s past pleasant experiences since as recorded in her diary that Nancy was born in a wealthy family and she used to be the apple in her parents’ eyes.

Nancy’s merciful parents were absolutely forgivable, although they always taught their dear daughter to enjoy life at all costs, although they kept encouraging their only daughter to waste time, although they were never against their beloved daughter’s request of purchasing fabulous soul eater costumes by all means, and even though their love made their poor girl a tragedy after their death. Recalling these precious moments, Nancy was sure that she would have a sleepless night again, just as numerous nights she had had before. However, Nancy was not fond of this; after all limitless labor works she was supposed to tackle with forced her to have a good sleep so that the harvest would not be delayed.

Covering herself completely with the ragged quilt, Nancy put her full strength to fight back her flowing thoughts and fancied to fall asleep soon.
